The Place de l’Europe is a highly symbolic area in Luxembourg as it celebrates that some of the European Institutions are based in this country. This area is surrounded by major buildings such as the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Alcide De Gasperi Building, the European Conference Center Luxembourg, the MUDAM Museum of Modern Art and the Musée Dräi Eechelen Fortress. It therefore represents the perfect fusion of Luxembourg’s economic and cultural diversity. The Place de l’Europe stands witness to both Luxembourg’s heritage and a modern vision of our society and openness to the world.
This triangular area originally designed by the Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill in 2004 will be given a facelift by the Fonds Kirchberg. To celebrate this occasion, we invite you to participate in a contest that focuses on Europe’s culinary and cultural diversity. We want to show:
- the new cuisine, its diversity, its mobility and its freedom in today’s Europe
- the cultural wealth: institutions, companies and residents give a new impetus to this area that exists not only at a local level, but also at an interregional and European level.
That is why we are going to organise a venue where people from different origins, professions, cultures, age groups and social classes can enjoy a meal with a very diverse musical program.
